Our team

One team. Under one roof.

A board-certified cardiologist, a clinical team that works directly with her, and an office that picks up the phone. Cardiology and primary care, one practice, here in Bakersfield.

Call us yourself — a person answers, and we'll find you a time this week.

Who you'll see

Big-city cardiology experience, brought home to Kern County.

Every test in our office is read by the cardiologist. Every care plan is hers. And the people around her make sure you're seen quickly and nothing gets lost between visits.

Cynthia Thaik, MD, FACC

Board-certified cardiologist

Reads every test. Directs every care plan.

Dr. Thaik is a fellowship-trained cardiologist, board-certified in cardiovascular disease and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She reads every study performed in our office herself and directs each patient's plan of care — in plain language, with the time to explain it.

How your visit works

Seen quickly. Read by the cardiologist. Explained in plain words.

1

Call us

A person answers — not a recording. We check your insurance for you and find you a time, most new patients within the week.

2

Your first visit

You'll often start with our nurse practitioner, who works directly with our cardiologist. We go over your history, your medications, and what's been going on.

3

Testing, right here

If you need a test, it's done in our office by our own team — no hospital scheduling, no second waiting list.

4

Your answers

The cardiologist reads every study. We call you and explain the results in plain words — in English or Spanish — and your primary doctor gets a copy.

How your visit works

You'll be seen quickly — often by our nurse practitioner, who works directly with our cardiologist. Every test is performed in our office and read by the cardiologist. You get answers fast because the whole team is under one roof.

Everyone you'll meet

The rest of the team is the reason it works.

Front office

The people who answer the phone. They check your insurance, find you a time, tell you what to bring, and help with the paperwork — in English or Spanish.

Testing team

Our own technologists perform every heart test here in the office — echocardiograms, stress tests, nuclear imaging, vascular ultrasound, and heart monitoring. The cardiologist reads them all.

Clinical staff

Medical assistants who take your vitals, go over your medications, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks between one visit and the next.

An independent practice

No hospital system owns us. There's no system to capture you into.

Your cardiology team and your primary care team work in the same practice and talk to each other every day. Decisions about your care are made here, in one office — not across a hospital campus.

If your primary doctor is outside our office, you go back to them with answers. If they're here, they already know.

New patients welcome

Medicare, most PPO plans, and cash patients. One call, and we'll check your plan for you.
